The Mysterious G — My First Crush On A Woman

I didn’t always know that I was bisexual. In fact, I lived the first eight or ten years of my life not knowing it. I always say that my bisexual awakening was Lady GaGa. Of course, at the age of ten I never thought that my fangirling was anything but that. I had a crush — my very first celebrity crush. But none of that mattered as much as my first real life crush on a woman.

It all started around the age of ten as well. Or was it eight or nine instead? Let’s call her G. She was my music teacher in her forties and the resemblance in her face with GaGa seemed almost uncanny. Was I the only one who saw that? In my eyes, she was the most gorgeous woman I had ever seen. Blue eyes, bleach blonde hair and contagious laughter… When G sang, it sounded like the voice of an angel to me. And I loved the way she dressed, too. She looked gorgeous in black, blue and red, always wearing high heels whose clicking sounds echoed in the hallway. But there was some kind of mystery and darkness surrounding G as well. In a way, she was quite intimidating and when she was in a bad mood, all hell broke loose. Most children either feared her or hated her. I was the only one who felt drawn to her despite her constant mood swings and intimidating aura. I wanted G to notice me, to like me. To realize that I’m not like the others.
